Installation video

On this date, we went through and began to print off and edit all of the pictures. Trimming them down and cropping the outer space to make it seem more authentic. I then went into town to purchase the last thew things for the production such as clocks and pins and other things. We then proceeded to start printing off the pictures that ere then going to be placed on to the wall for the montage of the memories and other stuff. The idea of the age of people in the picture determined where about they would go on the walls. We were trying to express the flow of time and ageing which is the main premise of the installation project. So we went for the left wall to be the younger child section slowly drifting into the teen to adult into family then the elderly section.

On this date, we i finished off the final edit for the installation project so i could then begin to sort out the rest of the production stuff for the project. I made sure that i had all of the pre production and spoke to the rest of the class to see if they have any old photos and family photos that i could use for the walls in my installation. I also sourced some of the old photos from my house to make sure that they are ready for the setting up process o[f the installation.

On this date, i sat down and i was just editing the footage that i had making sure that i had everything that we needed. The footage overall is very good and so i began my edit for the final edit. The footage i edited to show the symbolism of time and memory and how it can fade over time. I began by putting all of the footage together and getting it to match the storyboard i had created. The footage worked well and i then proceeded to place the transitions and edits in place to see how it would flow together and see if it works as a hole. I exported several takes and edits of the memories and overlaid them to the bed scene to see how they look and what effects i should use. I went through and begun the edits and transitions and i used a lot of shaking in parts symbolise the effect of the memories fading and turning to black and white.

On this date, myself and my partner on this unit Joel, filmed the sequence in which Jay Seymour was laying on the bed reacting to the effect that memories are having on him. The work that we created and filmed was very successful and was filmed as if you were looking down at him whilst he was sleeping. The studio was set up to look like bed room and the actions that jay made were supposed to show how he is seeming to forget what had happened when he was younger and growing up. Overall, the filming went well and we managed to get all of the shooting down in time to log and start the editing of the work. The edit was difficult and we hit a wall when released that the second take which was the better one didn't record. This meant that we had to re shoot the sequence and this one came better then the previous ones showing that the best thing to do was to shoot again. On this date, we filmed the memories that will be on the sheets when it is projected on to them. The shots we got fit with the context of the instillation videos theme of memories and making everyone count. I managed to get all of the POV of which it is when we are going though the teen section of the instillation video. The filming that we did today was filmed in Tonbridge park where there is a lot of things for the cast to play on and show happiness. We also decided to film today as the lighting was the best that it will be for a while. There was a lot of sun which is good to symbolise happiness and joy. i managed to get the studio booked for Thursday so that i can film everything that will be taking place during the screen overlays for my instillation.

On this date, i pitched my idea to Debbie to to see if she would like my idea to be chosen and use for the productions. I pitched my idea and Debbie liked it saying that it is a good idea. After this i went and created the pitch proposal form for the pre-production to show the progress for the idea and its generation. I made sure that all of the mind maps were ready for the final pre-production submission and for the progression on the production.
